Covering 1900 acres of space, PIE currently has two runways used to accommodate the flights arriving and departing from the airport. The airport is not only a commercial air transport hub, but it's also home to the Coast Guard Air Station, the largest and busiest Coast Guard Air Station in the United States. The Army Reserves also has an aviation support facility on the grounds as well. - PIE is split up into a few areas and two main concourses with gates all around. The vast majority of the gates are used to service Allegiant Air, heading to destinations such as Akron, Kansas City, New Orleans, Cedar Rapids and St. Louis. In the outer concourse, gates are labeled 7-10 and are right next to accessible restrooms on the left side. The inner concourse gives you access to gates 2-6 with duty free shops close by as well.
