Richmond International airport is currently served by 7 commercial carriers with direct flights to 20 destinations around the United States and connecting flights to destinations all over the world. The airport is set to embark on a major expansion to accommodate the ever-growing population and air traffic. Currently, the airport is the third busiest in Virginia, and this number is set to increase. RIC serves over 3 million passengers on a yearly basis. Currently, the airport is split up into two levels. On the lower level, you'll find airport mainstays like baggage claim, rental car counters and other ground transportation options like taxis, limos and shuttle buses. On this level adjacent to the terminal, you'll find a rental car garage that stores all the vehicles from the various rental car companies with counters directly inside the terminal. This will make the entire renting process that much easier. You'll then go up an escalator to the airport's upper level where you'll find all the departure gates split off into two concourses, A and B. - The upper level of the airport is split into two concourses, A and B, that have departure gates from specific airline carriers at each of them. The Concourse and gate that you go to will completely depending on the airline you booked your flight with. In Concourse A, you'll find airline carriers JetBlue and American Airlines while Concourse B will give you departure gate access Allegiant Air, Delta Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Delta Airlines and United Airlines.
