Louisville International Airport is located just 10 minutes from the city's downtown core, which means you'll get to the heart of the city the second you step off your flight. On a yearly basis, the airport accommodates over 3 million passengers. The airport covers 1,500 acres of space and has 3 runways to accommodate the departures and arrivals to the terminal. On average, there are 400 aircraft operations including commercial, general aviation, air taxi services and military use. On the airport's lower level, you'll find the arrivals area as well as baggage claim alongside convenient payphones, ATM machines and accessible restrooms. This later leads onto the upper level of the airport, where you will find all of the departure gates. Once you're on the upper level, you'll find the ticketing agents broken down by the specific carrier you're flying with. After passing through a TSA security checkpoint, you'll need to find your gate in either Concourse A or Concourse B, depending on where you're headed and the carrier you booked your flight with. - On the upper level of the airport, the airport is split into two concourses: A and B, and different gates will be dedicated to different airline carriers. In Concourse A, you'll find gates numbered A1 - A15 and while not every gate has a dedicated carrier, you can still find Delta Airlines at gates A1, A3 and A5, United Airlines at A9, A11 & A12 and American Airlines at A14. Concourse B2-B18 with US Airways at B4, B6 and B16 and Southwest Airlines and B15 and B17
